| e-Governance has been a priority of development exercise, viewed not as a programme being implemented, but its importance is perceived and permeated through the entire development machinery. A number of initiatives had been undertaken for ensuring faster flow of communication, and generation and preservation of information at the Block and Panchayat levels. Below we will have a glimpse on some of these initiatives:
As a matter of policy relevant for Dalkhola Municipality, Computers (PCs) had been provided at all strategic points, including Chairman, Executive Officer, Joint Executive Officer and Officers. One Management Information System (M.I.S) Cell, supported with air-conditioning system has been set up with adequate Computers dedicated for communication, generation of data and report-return. For faster flow of communication, broadband connectivity is in place, supplemented with another private service provider so that there is no break in flow of connectivity at critical hours. Dalkhola Municipality generates Govt. reports every month and uploads it at the website of the Dalkhola Municipality. Another fact in this continuous effort for value addition is development of Death and Birth Software. In fact, the software has enabled to generate Death and Birth certificates. |
